This castle, which belonged to mudliar Arthur Silva, was built in 1890. The building is in middle of a 42 acre land, with one boundary being the River Kalu (Kalu Ganga). Many people visit here to see the castle and the beauty of the garden, now under the Public Trustee. There are many workers here who are engaged in maintaining the Coconut and Rubber plantation. You have to take a turn just after the Kalutara Bodiya to reach here.

Kalutara Bodiya
Located immediately after the Kalu Ganga (Kalu River) bridge. As a practice, all passing through here seek blessings from the Bodiya for a safe journey for key. Here is an hollow dagoba with interesting paintings. Week ends and Poya days are usually crowded with visitors.

Pahiyangala
Pahiyan Bhikku from China is said have stayed here during his visit in the 3rd century A.D. The rock cave on top of the hill is 180 x 150 ft.This space could accommodate large gatherings at a time, and the natural forest is full of valuable plants. The recent excavation had revealed the full skull of a man, 6000 years old and a skull of an elephant which is 1300 years old, Visiting Pahiyangala, you can reach here via Horana and Bulathsinhala.

Wadduwa, Beruwala, Bentota and Hikkaduwa are famous for tourism, with many top end hotels. There are many places offering boat trips, and other water sports.

Gangathilaka Viharaya, Kalutara – Famous Buddhist Shrine on the main road, passing the bridge over the Kalu Ganga, between Kalutara and Wadduwa.
